Diabetic-friendly Cold Coffee Frappe

A low-fat, low-sugar cold coffee recipe to satisfy your taste buds. Try this coffee-shop style frappe that uses healthy alternative to sugar.

Ingredients

  • 7-8 cubes ice
  • 2 tsp coffee powder (I used Nescafe)
  • 2 tbsp low fat cream (I used Amul)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3-4 drops liquid stevia
  • 2 tiles dark chocolate (I used Amul's 55% dark)
  • Approx. 1/2 cup whipped cream

Instructions

  • Put ice cubes in a mixer jar.
  • Add coffee powder.
  • Add cocoa powder.
  • Add low fat cream.
  • Add milk. I used regular milk but skimmed milk can be used instead if you want to make it healthier.
  • Add stevia drops.
  • Grind till you get a slush-like consistency.
  • Add dark chocolate tiles to the mixture in the mixer jar.
  • Grind again to make thick, chocolaty, javachip frappuccino style cold coffee.
  • Pour in a glass or a large coffee mug.
  • Top it up with whipped cream.
  • Add chocolate syrup or small pieces of dark chocolate on top, to decorate. (optional)
