Mango Oatmeal Recipe for Babies and Toddlers

Simple and easy, nutritious recipe made using Quaker oats and a mango. Ideal as baby food, or healthy breakfast for toddlers and kids.

  • 3 tbsp instant oats I used Quaker oats
  • Pulp of 1 mango I used Alphonso
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp sugar You can use less if the mango is sweet enough
  • Pinch of cinnamon powder optional


  • Heat a pan and add oats and milk.
  • Cook the oats for about 2-3 minutes while stirring continuously. Turn off heat when they're done.
  • Take the pulp of a mango in a bowl, and add sugar and cinnamon powder. (You can try using honey if you don't want to use sugar. I haven't tried it, so I am not sure how it'll taste.)
  • Mix the mango, cinnamon powder, and sugar properly.
  • Add the oatmeal after it has cooled down and mix it properly. (You can also serve this chilled if your child is old enough to eat chilled food.)

At the time of writing this recipe I had not tried organic sugar. After using it now, I would totally recommend it. It is best to opt for organic sugar instead of the regular one.
Alternately, you can use honey instead of sugar. (This tip was shared by MumMumTime reader, Tanvi.)
